Location:
You’ll split your time between our Head Office in North Vancouver (2 days/week) and our Brymark Office in Port Coquitlam (3 days/week).
What You’ll Be Doing
Accounting & Reporting
- Support the Group Financial Controller in managing all finance-related activities.
- Oversee core accounting functions: A/P, A/R, payroll, general ledger, cost accounting, and cash management.
- Coordinate team responsibilities to meet deadlines and maintain accuracy.
- Manage job costing, job setup, and billing processes.
- Monitor daily cash flow and collections.
- Prepare financial statements and explain budget variances.
- Assist with year-end audits and prepare supporting documentation.
Leadership
- Lead and support a team of 5 finance and admin professionals.
- Foster collaboration between Finance and Construction teams.
- Promote a culture of teamwork, coaching, and continuous improvement.
- Provide insight and leadership to help the business grow.
Operational Support
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and add value.
- Recommend and implement new controls and efficiencies.
- Prepare reports and analysis for key stakeholders.
What You Bring
Qualifications
- CPA designation.
- At least 3 years of experience supervising accounting staff.
- Experience in construction and unionized environments is a plus.
- Familiarity with Acumatica is an asset.
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, data analysis).
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
