To strengthen its engineering team, our client is looking for a Mechanical Design Technician who will play a key role in the design, development, and validation of tooling required for injection molding.

Tasks

• Create technical drawings for the manufacturing of new tooling and production molds.
• Participate in design review meetings and hand-offs to the machining department.
• Contribute to project management and ensure follow-up on the development of new molds, both internally and externally.
• Collaborate on problem-solving processes with designers and engineers on the team.
• Support production startup and product qualification alongside the production team.
• Participate in the development of robotic solutions (robotic arms, programming, etc.).
• Assist the sales team in preparing quotations.
• Perform any other related tasks.

Job requirements

• DEC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent design experience.
• Excellent understanding of mechanics and strong 3D visualization skills.
• Proficiency in design software (SolidWorks, NX, Inventor – Catia V5 is an asset).
• Solid knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Fluent communication in French; English is an asset.
