THE ROLE:
Commissionaires’ NL provides security services at the Avalon Mall. Avalon Mall has been Newfoundland and Labrador’s premier shopping and entertainment destination for over 50 years. We are currently seeking a Site Manager to manage the daily security operations of the site. Site operations will require the Site Manager to work during peak day and times including a rotation of weekends and evenings.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Constant liaison and collaboration with the client to achieve security goals
 - Oversee & submit payroll including scheduling within contract budget, and allocating guards as required
 - Manage and train Commissionaires staff including motivating, directing, and evaluating all direct reports through formal & informal feedback discussions, performance management and performance reviews
 - Keep up to date on personnel files; noting expiry dates on First Aid and other training
 - Prepare incident reports and documentation for the client
 - Update Post Orders annually, in consultation with the client. Oversee the management and execution of site security protocols and post orders
 - Review daily briefs for accuracy, consistency and address any gaps as needed
 - Complete regular walking patrols and inspections of site
 - Develop and maintain a positive professional relationship with tenants, customers emergency services, and law enforcement agencies as they relate to the site
 - Participation in security education & awareness activities
 - Ensure the site team follows security and privacy laws and standards
 - Be available after hours to provide support to staff if needed
 - Monitoring and operation of camera systems. Review and report on maintenance issues for CCTV systems, guard tour systems and other security equipment
 
WHO WE’RE SEEKING
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- 1-2 years experience in a supervisory or management role
 - Prior security experience an asset
 - Post secondary in a Police Studies Program an asset
 - Be professional & Reliable
 - Police Certificate of Conduct
 - First Aid Emergency Level (1 Day)
 - Proficient computer skills
 - Be able to communicate effectively in English
 - Must have Valid Driver’s License

The selected candidate will be professional and detail driven individual with a strong work ethic and “can do” attitude. Both physical and mental fitness is required. This often involves working in all types of environment conditions at varying times throughout the day or night.
