About the role
The Opportunity
As the Front of House associate you are responsible for managing the FOH day to day operations of Bistro 7070 located at Chartwell’s Head Office in Mississauga. You put an emphasis on providing exceptional customer experience.
Key Activities
- Executing all catering orders, (setup, delivery (if applicable), take down).
- Responsible of daily setup and close of bistro front area, including beverage area and snacks.
- Managing POS daily operations including end of day reports
- Responsible for ensuring the front of house in kept clean and tidy at all times including during lunch hour as well as end of day cleanup including tables, floors, garbage microwave kiosk.
- Assist in preparation of some food items for the Grab and Go station in the bistro.
- Responding to guest concerns and ensuring appropriate action is taken within decision-making authority and/or bringing them to the attention of the Food Services Manager
- Ensures front of house supplies are stocked and Order’s replenishment supplies for front of house operations.
- Ensures refreshment stations, coffee machines are cleaned daily, and inventory is kept to par levels
- Responsible for bistro inventory and assists with ordering.
- Develops and maintains effective relationships with guests to determine individual needs, resolves issues or concerns, and evaluates guest satisfaction.
- Understands and follows all health and safety policies and procedures. Works safely to reduce the risk of injury to self, other staff members and guests. Promptly reports all actual or potentially hazardous situations.
- Conducts duties in accordance with Chartwell policies and procedures, as well as government regulations, laws, and policies
- Performs other related duties as required
Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum of one year experience in front of house and customer service
- Experience operating with a Point-of-Sale System at the restaurant level.
- Prior labor relations experience preferred
- Food Safety certification and asset
- First Aid Certification an asset
Education:
- Graduate of a post-secondary certificate/diploma or degree program in food service management, hospitality, or business.
Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to plan, organize and direct the delivery of food services.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Effective interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Good organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task
- Customer service oriented
