As part of our Shared Services group, comprised of Finance, Marketing, Communications, Human Resources, Commercial, Legal and Facilities, we support the business achieve their goals through a range of strong technical capabilities. We ensure delivery of services through the skills of our people, methodologies, and systems.
We are seeking a Senior Advisor, Government Relations to lead strategic engagement with government officials and key stakeholders. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with deep knowledge of public policy and political systems who can position Hatch as a trusted partner in advancing critical initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong networks with government officials through business council events, think tanks, symposiums, and similar forums.
- Facilitate follow-up meetings to identify and secure future opportunities.
- Communicate and “sell” Hatch’s value proposition effectively to government stakeholders.
- Strategize how events and engagements align with Hatch’s business objectives.
- Develop plans to connect with government ministers and demonstrate Hatch’s impact and value.
- Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to execute engagement strategies.
- Monitor political developments and identify opportunities for Hatch to contribute to policy discussions.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of experience in government relations, public policy, or related fields.
- Undergraduate degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Journalism, or Law.
- Strong understanding of provincial and federal political systems.
- Proven ability to network and influence decision-makers.
- Self-starter with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to travel as needed (15%–25%).
- Previous experience working in either private sector, government relations, government ministries or policy
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of foreign affairs related to energy, natural resources, and infrastructure.
- Experience in roles such as political reporter, policy advisor, or government relations consultant.
Base salary range: $71,000 - $121,000
At Hatch, we are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. In accordance with legislated pay transparency requirements, the expected salary range for this position is based on current market data and aligned with internal pay structures to ensure consistency and fairness.
Your individual compensation within this range will depend on factors such as skills, experience, qualifications and location.
