We are hiring full-time Banquet Captains to join our team on Carleton University campus. Reporting to the Catering Manager, the Banquet Captain is responsible for coordinating daily catering requirements/events and set up for events and conference groups on campus.

About the Job
- Coordinate catering functions and special events for internal and external clients/groups
- Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards
- Responsible for the execution of the function/event from beginning to end
- Supervise staff, including agency staff if required
- Conduct pre-shift rally/meetings
- Provide clear instructions to staff; ensuring tasks are completed in a timely manner and according to customer expectations
- Assure quality, courteous service is provided to customers at all times
- In conjunction with the Assistant Manager, train staff on job duties and Aramark catering standards
- Operate automobiles, vans and light trucks to deliver and pick up food items, while ensuring safety standards are continually practiced and adhered to
- Ensure catering room is kept in an organized and clean fashion
- Ensure adherence to all of Aramark Policies and Procedures
- May perform other job duties as required
About You
- Minimum 2 years catering experience/background
- Perform well under pressure; manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Strong organizational skills
- Effective team management experience
- Exceptional customer service, interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to lift 50lbs and push/pull 100lbs
- Smart Serve Certification
- Valid Driver’s License
- Drivers Abstract will be requested
The selected candidate for this position will need to complete and successfully pass a Criminal Background Check.
