Sales Lead, Public Transportation Technologies

We have been an integral partner in the design, engineering and implementation of fare card management systems, PA systems, CAD AVL, passenger information systems and infrastructure systems.
We’re seeking a dynamic and strategic Sales Lead to drive growth in public transportation technologies across North America. This role focuses on building relationships with transit agencies and government bodies, while identifying new verticals like airports for technology expansion. You’ll be the face of our cutting-edge solutions—from CAD/AVL systems to fleet electrification—and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of mobility.
To truly excel in this role you possess the technical know-how and ability to provide solutions to unique client requirements. You bring established business relationships with key players within the transportation and construction industries as well as a proven track record for identifying opportunities and new business connections. You have the ability to leverage your strong communication and interpersonal skills to positively influence others and drive for results.
As Sales Lead, Public Transportation Technologies you will be asked to do the following:
- Maintain and enhance existing relationships with Plan Group clients and business partners and identify opportunities for new business through prospecting and generating new project leads along with researching (Merx) and building new relationships with prime consultants, clients and contractors.
- Cultivate and manage strategic relationships with transit agencies, municipalities, and government stakeholders.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across public transit and adjacent sectors like airports and smart cities.
- Position the company as a thought leader in smart mobility and sustainable transit solutions.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking forums.
- Lead technical proposals and coordinate with team members to effectively develop RFQ/RFP submissions and/or related tender documents on the pursuit of large transportation projects.
- Communicate effectively with both external and internal stakeholders to understand project scope and aid clients in providing technical and engineering solutions to address their unique project requirements.
- Identify and develop our value proposition and differentiator within the transportation market. Contribute to the development of business marketing strategies, sales plan and department goals.
- Prepare contract documents, service level agreements (SLA’s) and related documentation as required to promptly respond to client inquiries.
- Monitor current projects to ensure client service levels are maintained.
- Work with internal departments to ensure client transactions are processed accurately and efficiently.
- Utilize CRM to track opportunities and client follow ups; coordinate with business development and sales teams to maximize efforts when developing a new client relationship.
QUALIFICATIONS
- You have a minimum of five (5) years of related technical sales experience in transportation systems & infrastructure; experience with smart cities technology is an asset.
- Technical knowledge of transit technologies and systems integration.
- Related post-secondary education; engineering preferred.
- Experience engaging with government agencies and navigating complex stakeholder environments.
- Excellent communication, presentation (verbal and written), and negotiation skills.
