We are looking for a Data Scientist to join a dynamic technology team supporting data-driven solutions within a global financial services environment. In this role, you will work with large and complex datasets to develop analytical models, identify insights, and create solutions that help automate and improve business processes. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with technology and business teams on innovative solutions involving data analysis, machine learning, automation, and predictive modeling. You will contribute to projects focused on improving operational efficiency, managing business processes and exceptions, and supporting informed decision-making across the organization. We are looking for someone with strong data science, analytical, and problem-solving skills, who is comfortable working in a fast-paced technology environment and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Location: Montreal Work Mode: Hybrid — in-office presence required 3 days/week Responsibilities The candidate will work within a machine learning team/squad developing Artificial Intelligence solutions, including ML and Gen AI. The candidate should be familiar with Python development, predictive analytics, and prompt engineering, and should be able to work with different clients and subject matter experts to understand business requirements, develop proper Python code, and build machine learning models with proven evidence and analysis. Strong candidates will be familiar with the machine learning model / Gen AI-based solution lifecycle and maintenance, including ongoing monitoring. Contribute to the development and maintenance of Machine Learning models for business problems Contribute to model evaluation, parameter tuning, feature selection, and model calibration experiments for predictive analytics projects Contribute to prompt engineering for data analysis and discovery Conduct regular testing and performance analysis Conduct necessary benchmarking experiments Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field 3–5 years of experience as a Data Scientist, with hands-on experience building ML and Data Science solutions for real-world problems Understanding of ML models and concepts, along with good practices and analysis Experience with or understanding of OpenAI and various LLM models, including prompt engineering, testing, and performance evaluation Strong data science and statistical analytics skills Strong problem-solving abilities with an innovative mindset Strong Python development skills Good communication skills English required Why choose us An international community bringing together more than 110 different nationalities An environment where trust is central: 70% of our leaders started their careers at the entry level A strong training system with our internal Academy and more than 250 modules available A dynamic work environment that frequently comes together for internal events (afterworks, team buildings, etc.) Amaris Consulting promotes equal opportunities.
