The Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to support the accounting and financial operations of a growing manufacturing business. Reporting directly to the Controller, this role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience across all aspects of the accounting function in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will play an important role in the day-to-day execution of accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, month-end close, account reconciliations, inventory accounting, and financial reporting support. In addition to maintaining accurate financial records, this individual will work closely with the Controller to identify process improvements, strengthen controls, and support operational decision-making across the business. As the organization continues its evolution, this position offers significant opportunities for professional growth and increased responsibility. The successful candidate will be encouraged to take ownership of accounting processes, contribute new ideas, and develop broad accounting and business knowledge within a growing manufacturing environment. Key Duties And Responsibilities Assist with monthly and year-end financial close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules. Support monthly financial reporting and analysis. Maintain accurate financial records within the ERP system. Assist with inventory accounting, manufacturing transactions, and reconciliations. Manage day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and on a timely basis. Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and account variances. Support process improvement initiatives and system enhancements. Support annual audits and compliance requirements. Perform ad hoc projects and analysis as required. The Ideal Candidate For This Position Will Have 2-5 years of progressive accounting experience. Experience supporting month-end close, account reconciliations, and full-cycle accounting processes is considered an asset. Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Progress toward an accounting designation (CPA prep or enrollment) is considered an asset. Working knowledge of accounting principles and financial processes. Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
