Job summary

SUMMARY Reporting to the DirectorSenior Manager – Physical Security and Screening Support, the Security Supervisor, Personnel Security Clearances is responsible for leading a national team of personnel security clearance coordinators as well as providing general support to the security team including compliance and documentation. KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES People Leadership * Lead PERSEC team members in reaching their potential and meeting ongoing and annual objectives. * Lead the daily activities of the PERSEC team by establishing priorities for Team Members and coordinating workflows to be sure files are completed in a timely and accurate manner. * Mentors, coaches, and trains team members. * Monitors execution of activities and performance to ensure timely completion and adherence to all requirements within the Contract Security Program. * Participates in recruitment activities. * Provides input for performance reviews. * Oversees and monitors the activities and performance of the Security Clearance Coordinators within assigned workloads. Ensures that activities are performed in accordance to established processes as well as internal and external requirements. * Conducts strong communication with management regarding team performance, issues, concerns, gaps etc. Program Support * Act as the program’s subject matter expert on matters related to: * Criminal background checks (CPIC). * Secondary checks as per pre-hire screening requirements. * Exemption processes. * Client specific clearance processes and requirements. * Support BGIS’s relationship with its screening service provider. * Provide support and guidance on regional screening programs under the guidance of the Senior Manager – Physical Security and Screening Support, and the Global CSO. * Assist with reviewing MSAs for new clients and client renewals to identify client specific screening requirements * Coordinate and monitor exemptions related to the screening process. * Ensure screening results are audited in accordance with client requirements * Assess and manage risks related to personnel screening, including compliance risks, process gaps, and client‑specific obligations. Security and Documentation * Maintain records on employee clearances in collaboration with People and Culture and client accounts. * Manage any change of status reporting in collaboration with internal concerned parties and clients. * Ensure that personnel screening files are properly safeguarded. * Where required, maintain lists of cleared vendors and vendor employees, and conduct quality control audits. * Engage with potential team members, internal and external concerned parties as required to ensure accurate records and clarify discrepancies. * Ensure required documentation is submitted in order to modify or revoke client security clearances where appropriate. * Provide support in creating access and ID cards and ensuring access to corporate buildings. Compliance and Meetings * Ensure compliance with BGIS policies, contracts and agreements, and legislation as it relates to employee screening and access programs. * Monitor employee gearing ratios and maintain dashboards for monthly review with the Global CSO. * Maintain records and awareness of client screening and site access requirements. * Identifies areas of improvement, actions, and updates all necessary internal processes. * Oversees the proper application and execution of processes and practices to ensure achievement of and adherence to all requirements. Education * Develop and administer awareness programs related to screening programs. * Provide briefings to account leads and/or leadership on PERSEC matters. * Provide screening program overviews for current and potential new clients. Other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS * Minimum 5 years previous experience in areas such as screening, background verifications or employee vetting. * Previous leadership experience. * Must have experience in reading and interpreting contractual language and legal material. * Knowledge of supporting security disciplines, including document control, personnel security processing, and security processes and procedures. * Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate information to various audiences and all levels of the organization, both verbally and through written communications. * Must be dependable, responsive, customer-focused and possess the qualities of diplomacy, tact, excellent judgment, discretion and initiative and perform in a multi-tasked and dynamic environment. * Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and presentation skills. * Demonstrated and thorough experience using Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel Spreadsheets and various databases. * Requires the ability to make sound decisions, manage time, take independent action, analyze problems and provide focused solutions. * Ability to interpret security policy, privacy regulations, and client MSA requirements * Strong understanding of risk assessment principles and adjudication frameworks * Strong and effective leadership skills. * Bilingualism is considered a strong asset. * Must be able to obtain and maintain a RELIABILITYSECRET level PSPC clearance, as well as OPS and OPP clearances. This is a regular, full-time position with a salary range of $63,397 - $79,246 per annum. The starting salary will be based on the successful candidate’s competencies, including but not limited to experience, education and performance related to this role. #LI-HG
