The Produce Utility Clerk is responsible to ensure customer service is provided through maintaining a safe and efficient operation while adhering to Company policies, procedures and standards. The Produce Clerk position reports directly to the Produce Supervisor/Produce Manager, and the main responsibilities include; * Provides customer service and maintains positive customer relations through the proper handling of customer questions, comments, request and complaints. Effectively works in a diverse team environment in a proficient and friendly manner. * Performs all aspects of the Produce Utility function including but not limited to culling, stocking, displays and facing in an efficient and organized manner. Ensures display presentation and stock levels are maintained. * Handles merchandise ensuring quality, minimizing damages and markdowns. Provides substitutions and ensures price integrity including price changes. * Performs general cleanup duties such as cleaning spills and display fixtures to ensure neat and organized department. Responsible for keeping the sales floor and back stock area clean from cardboard and debris, as well as disposal of garbage. * Performs duties following established Occupational Health & Safety, Food Safety, and Environmental regulations and policies to ensure the health and safety of all staff and customers. * Ensures the proper care, use and maintenance of equipment and tools. Reports repair requirements to the Produce Supervisor, Produce or Duty Manager. * Responsible for all aspects of ordering merchandise and supplies. * Responsible for all aspects of receiving including reviewing / verifying invoices, returns, transfers, claims and proper storage of products. * Assists in organizing and conducting inventory.
