The CNC Machinist works under minimum supervision of the lead hand or supervisor. Performs settings, operates or monitors metal or acrylic cutters designed for repetitive work. As a CNC Machinist Your Key Responsibilities Include The number of machines to be operated simultaneously may vary according to the nature of the work performed and the cycle time; Investigates work orders or interprets drawings and/or plans in order to determine machining operations to be performed; Cuts and sands Plexiglas using sandblast, circular saw and scraper; Assembles, places and fixes parts on the numerical control machine; Enters, when necessary, codes corresponding to the cutting speed, flow and coordinates in computer numerical control milling machines and changes tools based on the program. Deburrs tools and parts, when necessary; Uses some conventional machines in his/her work area, when necessary; Checks reference hole positions using coordinate measuring machine and zeroes as required. Checks machined part dimensions using micrometers, calipers, verniers and other precision measuring instruments; Reports programming anomalies; Records information and checklists for operators; Performs any other related tasks as assigned.
