A growing manufacturing organization in the Greater Montréal area is seeking a Business Analyst, Planning & Operations to support and optimize production planning, materials management, operational reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position is ideal for an analytical and organized professional who enjoys combining business analysis, data analytics, operational planning, and process improvement. The successful candidate will work independently while collaborating closely with production, procurement, engineering, logistics, customer service, finance, and management teams to improve planning accuracy, operational efficiency, and business performance. Key Responsibilities Business Analysis & Process Improvement Analyze and document business processes related to production planning, inventory management, materials planning, and supply chain operations. Meet with stakeholders to gather requirements, understand operational challenges, and recommend improvements. Facilitate discussions and working sessions with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for greater efficiency. Conduct root-cause analyses related to material shortages, scheduling issues, inventory discrepancies, and workflow inefficiencies. Translate business requirements into actionable process, reporting, or system improvements. Create and maintain process documentation, workflows, procedures, and business requirements documents. Contribute to operational excellence, digital transformation, and continuous improvement initiatives. Planning, Materials & Scheduling Support daily and long-range production and materials planning activities. Maintain planning parameters including lead times, safety stock levels, reorder points, and bill-of-material accuracy. Coordinate material availability to support customer demand and production requirements. Develop and maintain production schedules based on capacity, demand forecasts, inventory levels, and operational priorities. Monitor planning exceptions, shortages, and supply-chain risks. Analyze demand trends and inventory performance to support operational decision-making. Work closely with procurement, production, logistics, and engineering teams to ensure uninterrupted operations. Reporting & Data Analytics Develop, maintain, and enhance dashboards, KPIs, and operational performance reports. Analyze large datasets using advanced Excel tools, formulas, and pivot tables. Build and maintain reporting solutions using Power BI and other business intelligence tools. Identify trends, risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities using operational and business data. Present findings and recommendations to managers and senior leaders. Support decision-making through accurate reporting, analysis, and business insights. Improve data quality, reporting processes, and visibility of operational metrics. Process Documentation & Continuous Improvement Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), workflows, process maps, and operational documentation. Ensure planning and reporting processes are documented, standardized, and continuously improved. Identify opportunities to increase efficiency, reduce manual processes, and improve data accuracy. Support system enhancements, reporting improvements, and operational initiatives across multiple departments. Participate in continuous improvement projects focused on planning effectiveness, inventory management, and operational performance. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Business Technology Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field. Minimum 3 years of experience in business analysis, operations, manufacturing, planning, supply chain, project analysis, or related environments. Experience gathering business requirements and documenting processes. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience working with ERP and/or MRP systems. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience developing reports and dashboards using Power BI. Experience analyzing operational, supply chain, manufacturing, or business data. Manufacturing or industrial experience is considered a strong asset. Preferred Technical Skills Power BI Advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, Power Query, Lookups, Data Analysis) ERP/MRP Systems SQL (Asset) SAP, Oracle, Ariba, or similar enterprise systems (Asset) Business Process Mapping KPI Development and Reporting Data Visualization Process Improvement Methodologies Competencies Strong analytical mindset Exceptional attention to detail Excellent organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously Strong communication and presentation skills Initiative and accountability Data-driven decision-making Continuous improvement orientation Ability to work effectively across multiple departments Strong problem-solving capabilities Professional proficiency in English and French.
