Assist in the closing process and ensure reporting is timely and accurate. Responsible for preparation of account reconciliations and supports the analysis of expenses as the business requires. Prepares payroll journal entries and selected payroll reconciliations. Responsibilities • Supports many aspects of the closing period process, including preparation and posting of journal entries, revenue reconciliations, variance analysis, and accuracy of the general ledger • Supports compliance with internal and external controls, Sarbanes Oxley requirements, GAAP accounting principles, and Corning policies and procedures • Prepares monthly account reconciliations including bank accounts and resolve any discrepancies, reconciles intercompany invoices and payables to ensure accurate consolidations • Support Controller with monitoring spending and guides department managers to control costs. Research and provide details on expense variances • Supports monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting activities in support of tax and regulatory filings to provincial and federal authorities Language Requirements This position requires bilingualism (French and English). Proficiency in English is essential, as the role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and clients on a global scale, where English is the primary language of communication. LOCATION Hybrid - Montreal, QC, Canada TYPE Permanent, Full-time QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor's degree (4 years) in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration • 3+ of relevant experience including hands-on experience with month-end activities (journal entries), account reconciliations, and variance analysis • Understanding of Canadian payroll cycle (including mandatory provincial and federal deductions and benefits), sales taxes knowledge, and posting journal entries • Fluent in English and at least intermediate French DESIRED • Knowledge of US GAAP (preferred) • Experience with Sage 300 & Acumatica (preferred) Canada (iBwave) We are committed to supporting your health, financial, career development, and life goals as you grow professionally and personally to achieve your highest potential. Requirements
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with over 3 years of relevant experience in month-end activities. Must be fluent in English and at least intermediate in French, with knowledge of Canadian payroll and sales taxes.
