Position Overview The Specialist, Events and Sponsorships is a member of the Marketing team and reports to the Director, Events and Sponsorships. The Specialist leads complex and high-profile events and sponsorship initiatives, advises lawyers and internal teams on the right approach, and is accountable for plans, budgets, delivery and evaluation. The role works closely with Business Development, Marketing and Communications to support client relationships and lawyer visibility, and provides day-to-day guidance to the Coordinator. This is an existing vacancy. Primary Responsibilities Lead complex, high-profile virtual, hybrid and in-person events from planning through execution and follow-up, ensuring quality, deadlines and a strong guest experience. Work with lawyers, Business Development and other stakeholders to understand an event’s purpose, audience and objectives, and develop plans aligned with firm and practice priorities. Recommend event formats, timing, vendors and execution approaches, and provide practical advice to lawyers and internal teams throughout the planning process. Evaluate sponsorship opportunities and recommend participation, investment level and activation approach. Manage approved sponsorships, including deliverables, logistics and follow-up. Develop and track event and sponsorship budgets, monitor spending and negotiate with venues and suppliers within approved parameters. Establish appropriate measures of success for major events and review attendance, engagement, feedback and costs to identify opportunities for improvement. Partner with Business Development, Marketing and Communications on client outreach, content, speaking and profile opportunities connected to events and sponsorships. Coordinate invitations, presentations and other event materials with the appropriate internal teams. Work closely with the Event Coordinator on event logistics, providing guidance and reviewing work where appropriate. Support the sourcing of gifts and merchandise, with particular involvement in higher-value or strategically important requirements. Skills knowledge and experience Five to seven years of event and sponsorship experience, including leading complex events in a professional services environment. A certificate in event management or a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is preferred. Demonstrated ability to advise stakeholders, develop plans, manage budgets and suppliers, and make sound decisions under pressure. Strong communication, organization and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities and guide others. Well informed on new restaurant openings, venue options and events across the city. Comfort with event, registration and office technology, and willingness to learn new tools. Salary Range The expected starting salary range for this role is $70,000 - $80,000. The final offer will be determined based on the successful candidate's experience and qualifications.
