Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your comprehensive testing expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside dedicated, innovative, and collaborative teammates.
Your main mission is to execute test and commissioning activities on several Signaling and Network products based on Quality, Cost, Delivery (QCD) and Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements. Ensure the testing, troubleshooting and follow-up of electronic equipment in compliance with the SQCD in compliance with EHS policies.
You'll play a central role in ensuring the smooth testing and delivery of signaling products for one of Canada’s largest public transit transformation projects.
The main responsibilities are:
- Execute testing activities on railway signaling systems under the direction of his / her hierarchy according to the testing procedure / documentation and following Subsystem instructions
- Identify malfunctions detected in the test and carry out corrective actions
- Check that the test tools are in perfect working order and calibrated
- Replace defective equipment and ensure its repair in accordance with the procedures in force
- In the event of a non-conformity observed during the testing phase, make a return experience (REX) towards the project, ensure that all design related issues are correctly reported in the adequate tools, including the defect description and associated test context
- Deliver the committed performance in terms of Quality, Costs and Deadlines and in compliance with Alstom policies, local standards and regulations (in particular EHS and Railway Safety)
- Construct of test set-up of limited complexity or part of more complex test set-up to perform the required test activity
- Support Test Lead activities
- Work on fault finding and expertise
- Management of test instrumentation and acquisition/analysis devices used for test set-up
- Report EHS problems relevant to performed instrumentation and test activities
- Execution of low level data analysis for evaluation of test results
- Ensure functionality of the required test set-up within constraint of agreed cost resource
- Set up testing tools and equipment: machine, workstation, test bench, inspection tool
- Clean and maintain working areas and testing tools/equipment
- Respect task time and quality level assigned by operating instructions, methods process and MRP routine
- Alert Team Leader on process drift or quality problem
- Respect ESD rules for electronics devices production
- Comply with EHS rules
- Deal with testing of products/components related to railway signaling and electrical equipment and wires
- Contribute to products Manufacturing Feedback to support functions in order to improve SQCD performance
- Spread best environmental and EHS practices in the team

Competencies and skills:

Experienced and qualified technician or experienced worker in Electronics or Electrical domain

Technical bachelor degree or diploma in Electronics or Electrical domain preferred

Capability to perform testing activities on electrical component and products

Knowledge and ability to read and understand test procedures and technical drawings

Knowledge and capability to use of testing tools and equipment

Capability to identify problems and misfunction

Capability to strictly follow written work instructions, QCD standards EHS requirements

Manual skill

Good attitude for teamworking and professional accuracy

Experience in Railway industry, preferably within an industrialization environment for signaling products preferred
