We are seeking an accomplished and dynamic Operational Training Lead to join our team.. In this role, you will play a critical part as a liaison with Ontario managers for all scheduling activities regarding new hire classes, firearm requalification, remedial driver training and coach development. The incumbent will provide ongoing coaching and development to the Ontario Regional Trainers and identified branch trainers as a succession management strategy. The person in this role will also fulfill all regional trainer requirements, contributing to our ongoing success and strategic goals.
As part of the Operations Training Team, you will maintain the master schedule for all operational training needs, including new hire courses, requalification sessions, semiannual firearm qualifications for front-line employees, and remedial training. Partner with branch managers to forecast hiring needs, evaluate and update internal and external training programs, review regional trainer activity each month, and serve as the single point of contact for all Ontario branches.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Initiatives
Audit regional trainer activities to provide support, guidance, and ensure compliance with processes and regulations. Implement 30-minute Health and Safety audits during regional training activities at all Ontario branches. Coordinate with BGS Montreal and the New York State licensing office to prevent carry permit issues. Contribute to improvements in licensing tracking of permits in all Ontario branches.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
Participate in Global Learning activities when opportunities arise. Evaluate team practices and recommend improvements or alternative approaches.
Performance Metrics & Accountability
Support trainers in achieving monthly SAAG metrics. Share updated schedules with branches twice monthly for input and feedback. Certify branch firearms trainers and complete annual audits of skill proficiencies. Conduct periodic audits of regional trainer activities to provide support, guidance, and ensure compliance with process flows and regulations.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
Apply a Continuous Process Improvement mindset to all training activities and implement needed process improvements. Analyze training processes and schedules, then recommend Lean-based improvements. Support and improve Workday Learning completions in assigned areas.
Preferred Qualifications
High School diploma or GED
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a trainer and or field related industry. Familiar with Brink’s training requirements and learning management system in Workday. Fluency in both French and English, with strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages. Valid Possession and Acquisition License (PAL) for restricted and non-restricted firearms Manage and meet daily training requirements and commitments. Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business objectives into actionable training strategies. Proficiency in on-the-job-training. Ability to obtain a guard card and any other required licenses.

Post-secondary education in adult education principles. Demonstrated initiative and team-building skills to motivate stakeholders outside the department. Proven accountability, strong work ethic, with the ability to maintain accurate records. Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office. Strong organization and attention to detail. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Adaptable to changing environments and willing to challenge the status quo. Able to work under pressure while meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards.
