About the role
Your Opportunity: The prairies are calling! We are looking for a pharmacist who would like to provide an exceptional medication experience to patients as part of Hanna Hospital Pharmacy team. The Hanna Hospital supports 17 acute care beds primarily focused on rural general medicine as well as supporting a 61 bed long term care. The Hanna Hospital pharmacy team provides distribution and clinical services to acute care, LTC, and emergency patients at the site, and when needed provides remote coverage support for sites in Central Zone.
The Hanna Hospital provides a supportive, multidisciplinary environment for pharmacists, where they provide care to patients as part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team. The pharmacy department is supported by a team of pharmacy technicians working at their full scope of practice to support the pharmacists to focus on clinical activities by engaging with patients and the multidisciplinary team members.
Description: As a Pharmacist I, you will be responsible for the safe, effective and efficient preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical services. You will manage medication therapy for patients, both initially and on an ongoing basis. In addition, you will provide assessment, intervention and resolution of potential or actual drug-related problems and oversee activities related to compounding and packaging.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP).
Additional Required Qualifications: Additional Prescribing Authorization (APA) from the Alberta College of Pharmacist would be an asset for this position. Successful candidates not having APA will be expected to obtain it within 6 months of commencing in this position, dependent on eligibility. Pharmacy related experience in a hospital setting or in direct patient care providing comprehensive medication management services. Recent experience as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team. Experience with computerized medication order entry, and different drug distribution systems such as unit dose.
Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated self-directed learning and continuing education. Demonstrated good time management including ability to switch priorities and multitask. Demonstrated excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, good organizational and problem-solving skills. Self-motivated; able to work both independently and cooperatively in a team environment. Rural hospital experience an asset.
