The Assistant Service Manager is responsible for managing the quality, efficiencies and productivity of the Service Advisor, Detail & Lot Services teams. This area of the service department handles all aspects of new and used RV inventory for delivery, reconditioning, and inventory maintenance, as well as all customers returning for repairs. The Assistant Service Manager leads and directs all employees within that area of the service department. In conjunction with the Service Manager, the Assistant Service Manager is responsible for meeting sales, forecasts, efficiencies, profitability targets, expense controls and delivering a high level of workmanship on time. Playing an active role as part of the management team of the location, the Assistant Service Manager sets a tone consistent with Company Values, the highest standards of business ethics and a commitment to fair treatment and respect for Company Staff. CORE COMPETENCIES: * Ability to motivate, coach and mentor * Leadership capability * Excellent communication skills * Tact and Diplomacy * Strong organizational skills * Team player * Organizational and priority-setting skills * Problem-solving and analytical skills * Ability to multitask * Service orientated JOB DUTIES: * Adhere to the company’s Mission, Vision & Values * Work with the Service Manager to ensure full collaboration between internal and external service advisors with all other departments and the tech team * Hire, supervise and direct the operations/administration team * Responsible for a safe and clean work environment * Ensure that all service advisors, forklift operators, and detailers, regardless of experience, receive training and upgrading * Conduct annual Performance Review Meetings * Develop, implement, and maintain processes to raise our level of customer & employee satisfaction * Resolve customer concerns * Work closely with the Parts Manager to ensure on-time parts delivery and stocking levels are sufficient * Work closely with the Special Order Parts team to ensure that all parts are ordered * Work closely with the Sales Management team to ensure all units are ready for customer delivery and any after-sales issues are handled in a timely manner * In coordination with the Service Manager: * Setting and maintaining sales and profit objectives and maintaining service records * Responsible for ensuring the profitable operation of the service department at maximum production while controlling costs, and maintaining good employee relationships REQUIREMENTS: * High school education * Post-Secondary Education (is an asset) * Management Training * Service Management experience, ideally in the RV or automotive industry * Business procedures * Financial understanding/experience * Employee experience Compensation: $85,000 - $95,000 per annum
