FACILITY MAINTENANCE- PAINTER Job Description Position Summary The successful candidate will carry out all the painting, wall vinyl, stucco, caulking, drywall and compound repairs and installation throughout the property.. Duties and responsibilities: * Recognizes and greets all guests and team members first * Provides exceptional and professional service to our guests and team members. Ensures the well-being of our guests and team members by being alert to and reporting potential hazards * Models all Deerhurst Resort Standards while caring for the guests, co-workers and owners * Comfortable making responsible decisions and develops recommendations for effective problem solving * Carry out all the painting maintenance and repairs as per work orders received. Follows all policies and procedures laid out in the Engineering SOP manual. Performs assigned Emergency Response duties as required * Use all tools and equipment provided in the proper and safe manner. * Repair and maintain the company painting equipment. * Sign in/out and assume full responsibility for the properties tools used in work. * Keeping the work environment clean, free of debris and hazardous materials - keep paint and cleaner cans safe and sealed. * Ensure the safety of all guests and team members is kept in mind while completing tasks assigned. * Ensure the safety codes and policies are applied at all time * Extended hours or change schedule may be required to respond to emergency situations * Keep a paint chart and areas of applications. * Wear all necessary safety equipment at all times (safety shoes, air masks, eye goggles...etc.) * All other duties as required to meet the requirements of the resort. Qualifications: * Guest oriented with a sincere, helpful, caring and friendly personality Able to work well with others * Able to take initiative * Ability to work independently, as well as with others * Pays precise attention to detail, order and cleanliness * Has exceptional energy, flexibility and professionalism * Enjoys offering exceptional service and meeting the needs of others * Has effective communication skills (verbal, listening, writing) * Able to adapt in a fast pace, constant changing environment within a dynamic work schedule * Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly * Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately * Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations * Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure * Must be able to handle problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary * Must have the ability to assimilate complex information, data, etc. from disparate sources and consider, adjust, or modify to meet the constraints of the particular need Must be effective at listening, understanding and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests Education & Experience * Minimum of 5 years experience * Practical and hands on knowledge of all types of painting/vinyl/stucco installation and repairs, spraying equipment and the respective tools * WHIMIS trained * Fully trained in the use of power related tools * Maintain a positive attitude at all times * Valid Ontario 'G' class driver's license and clean driving record Visa Requirements: Must be eligible to work in Canada.
