HVAC/Refrigeration Technician Full time Position – 40 hours Wage/Salary – Starting at $35/hour Position Summary The successful candidate will perform preventive, predictive and emergency repairs and replacement/installation to all HVAC, refrigeration, appliance and cooking equipment. Duties and responsibilities: * Conducts internal safety and security audits and correct deficiencies through program and or policy development * Comfortable making responsible decisions and develops recommendations for effective problem solving * Works with hand and power tools, electrical test equipment and refrigeration equipment * Follows all policies and procedures laid out in the Engineering SOP manual * Must have working knowledge of all legal issues in compliance with MOE/OSHA * Makes all preventive, predictive and emergency repairs and replacement/installation to all HVAC, refrigeration, appliance and cooking equipment throughout the property Skills, Abilities & Attributes * Guest oriented with a sincere, helpful, caring and friendly personality * Able to work well with others * Able to take initiative within given guidelines * Pays precise attention to detail, order and cleanliness * Has exceptional energy, flexibility and professionalism * Enjoys offering exceptional service and meeting the needs of others * Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly * Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately * Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure * Must be able to handle problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems * Must have the ability to assimilate complex information, data, etc. from disparate sources and consider, adjust, or modify to meet the constraints of the particular need * Must be able to move in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects * Must be able to work rotating shifts and weekends as required * Must be available for on-call work Education & Experience * Must have at least 5 years’ experience as a journey person working with commercial and residential installations * Must be licensed in Ontario as a refrigeration and air conditioning mechanic 313A * Must have a G-2 gas license or greater * Oil license is also an asset * Must have ODP certification * Must have a valid Ontario G driver’s license with a clean driving record Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to): * Able to move up and down stairs occasionally * Able to work outdoors in seasonal temperatures * Able to drive at night Visa Requirements: Must be eligible to work in Canada.
