GFT is looking to recruit several Contruction Managers and Inspectors with Heavy Civil, Utilities and Roadway experience to join our Construction Services Group in Toronto, ON. We oversee every construction phase to help ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. What you'll be challenged to do: As a Construction Manager, you will participate in Pre-construction development and constructability reviews, oversee construction activities and lead inspections, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards while effectively communicating with project teams and stakeholders. This role will enable you to take on new challenges and expand your career in construction management, focusing on the successful delivery of transportation projects in the GTHA. In this capacity, you will be responsible for the following: Establishing a safety-first culture for all construction projects. Pre-construction development and constructability reviews. Inspecting work materials and methods to ensure compliance with contract documents, maintaining quality and safety. Documenting construction activity, including environmental events and progress, for project closeout. Issuing and following up on contract deficiency reports and required corrective actions. Assisting in resolving construction-related issues and enhancing processes. Carrying out all quality assurance and quality control functions and coordinating inspections. Leading small projects in managing, implementing, and tracking change notices for as-constructed drawings. Collaborating with stakeholders to solve complex problems and report on contract compliance. Reviewing the quality of contractors' work and preparing reports for clients. Engaging in professional growth opportunities, leadership training, and preparation for future leadership roles. What you will bring to our firm: Inspectors with Heavy Civil, Utilities and Roadway experience. What we prefer you bring: Construction Inspection experience. Experience inspecting mechanical and/or electrical systems and supervising construction sites. Structural design experience. Proven understanding of industry standards, construction, Health and Safety codes, and regulations. Valid driver’s license and flexibility to travel to construction sites for extended periods and work outside of normal business hours. Compensation: The range for this position is $110,000 - $160,000.00.
