JOB OVERVIEW We are hiring experienced Traffic Control Persons (TCPs) to support road and construction projects across the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island under Street Smart Traffic, a subsidiary of Glen Group. This role involves working in live traffic environments, setting up and maintaining safe work zones, and supporting crews to ensure safe and efficient traffic movement on active job sites. WHAT WE OFFER * $23/hour starting rate * Consistent, year-round work * Strong support from dispatch, fleet, and operations * Well-organized job sites with proper planning * Strong focus on safety and teamwork * Opportunity to become LCT after assessment and field experience * Professional and structured work environment REQUIREMENTS * Valid TCP certification required * Minimum 6 months traffic control experience preferred * Strong awareness of safety in live traffic environments * Good communication and teamwork skills * Able to follow instructions in fast-paced conditions * Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions * Reliable vehicle is an asset KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Set up, adjust, and remove traffic control equipment such as cones, signs, barricades, and delineators * Safely direct traffic using stop/slow paddles, hand signals, and approved procedures * Follow Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) and site-specific instructions * Maintain safe traffic flow through active construction and work zones * Ensure proper separation between vehicles, pedestrians, workers, and equipment * Conduct basic site awareness checks before and during shifts (identify hazards such as speed, visibility, blind spots, and weather conditions) * Position yourself safely in designated areas to maintain visibility and control of traffic flow * Communicate clearly with LCTs, supervisors, and crew members using radios or site communication tools * Report unsafe conditions, near misses, or traffic incidents immediately * Assist with setting up lane closures, detours, and work zone protection as directed * Ensure all equipment remains visible, stable, and properly placed throughout the shift * Support safe entry and exit of construction vehicles and equipment when required * Follow all site safety rules, MOTI guidelines, and supervisor instructions WORK CONDITIONS * Year-round work available * Outdoor work in all weather conditions * Projects across Lower Mainland & Vancouver Island * Flexible schedule with occasional weekends 👉 If you are a reliable TCP who takes safety seriously and wants steady work with growth opportunities, apply now.
