NWI Precision specializes in high-precision machining of helicopter masts, turbine shafts, engine thrust links, and nuclear pressure vessel components for the aerospace and nuclear industries worldwide. Operating from a 120,000 sq. ft. facility at 9 Fenmar Drive in Toronto, our dedicated team is committed to delivering the highest quality products to specifications and on time. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Logistics Specialist to join our team and support our expanding operations.
The Logistics Specialist is primarily responsible for printing WO, issuing material to the order, managing the coordination and movement of goods from one location to another, verifying and managing the relevant shipping documents. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills to ensure timely and accurate deliveries. The Logistics Specialist will work closely with suppliers, customers, and internal teams to optimize transportation and ensure the smooth flow of products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Management of Inbound Material: Receive and verify the documents of incoming material; scan and save documents in designated folder to enhance automation of history docket procedure
- Order Release: Printout the work order, manage batch size in accordance with pre-defined rules, issue materials to the order etc.
- Coordinate Shipments: Prepare shipping documents, plan and coordinate the transportation of parts, ensuring timely delivery and proper documentation.
- Track Shipments: Monitor and track shipments from origin to destination, troubleshooting any issues that arise along the way.
- Communicate with Suppliers/Customers: Liaise with suppliers, vendors, and customers to confirm shipment details, delivery schedules, and resolve any issues.
- Coordinate with Warehouse Teams: Work closely with warehouse and inventory teams to ensure timely dispatch of goods.
- Resolve Issues: Address and resolve issues such as delays, damaged goods, or discrepancies in shipments.
- Compliance: Ensure that all shipments comply with local, national, and international shipping regulations and company policies.
- Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels and help identify supply chain inefficiencies or issues.
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and best practices.
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Syteline ERP fluency
- Interest in learning new skills and developing relationships across the entire value chain of the Nuclear program
