YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:
Reporting to the Sr. Tailings & Water Management Engineer, you will be part of the Mill Department. You will also ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Support the RP to carry out projects in all types of integrated tailings and water management systems (tailings dams and deposition, waste rock and overburden facilities, seepage control, diversion channels, water management ponds, spillways, etc.) under engineering, operating and closure conditions
- Work with multi-disciplinary and multicultural teams to participate in developing integrated tailings, and mine water management solutions
- Conduct work in the planning, design, and monitoring of tailings dam deposition and stability
- Help in conducting geotechnical and hydrological assays of tailings dams and water management system of the TSFs
- Support to monitor performances and KPI of the TSFs
- Support the RP to report on Tailings Management (Risk Assessment, Data, Performance, Compliance, etc.)
- Contribute and participate in tailings dam construction, expansion or closure projects
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Bachelor’s degree in Geological, Chemical, or Civil engineering with a minimum of two years in the mining sector (tailings practice and mine water management) preferred

Knowledge of tailing storage facility design concepts, water chemistry and associated water management infrastructure (channels, ponds and spillways)

Good understanding of tailings management facilities, and mine water balances

Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint

- Schedule: 4/3 or 5/2 schedule at our Macassa Mine in Kirkland Lake, ON.
