The department of Surgical Services, division of Dentistry of Island Health, has an opening for a Dentist at Comox Valley Hospital. We seek a candidate to provide the full scope of treatment for dentistry in a hospital setting including consultative services for inpatients when required (approximately 1 day every 3 months).
The qualified candidate will hold BDS, DMD or DDS and be licensed or able to be licensed to practice dentistry in BC.
The successful candidate must have previous experience in providing general dentistry in a hospital setting. The successful candidate will be expected to have a community practice where outpatient consultations and follow up care will take place.

The beautiful oceanfront Town of Comox is located on the central east coast of Vancouver Island. The Comox Valley includes the towns of Comox, Courtenay and Cumberland which together have an immediate catchment of over 72,000 people. With its short, mild winters and warm dry summers, it is one of the most diverse recreational and cultural locations in the world. Known for its abundant wildlife, it is a place where you can ski, golf, fish and go to the theatre – all in the same day.
Comox offers all the amenities of a larger city with the charm of a small town setting, including high quality daycares, excellent schools (both French and English), relatively affordable housing, and easy access by air to Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton.
Comox Valley Hospital is a 154 bed acute care facility opened in 2017, managed by the Vancouver Island Health Authority. This new facility includes a closed 8-bed ICU and a 10-bed telemetry unit. In order to support our growing community, the Comox Valley Hospital is looking to expand internal medicine capacity.
