Position Summary:
Reporting to the Student Outreach Manager, the incumbent serves as a liaison between Branches and internal/external participants in mentoring programs designed to support youth in/from care.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Stay informed on issues and resources relevant to youth in care at McGill.
- Develop, evaluate, and improve mentoring and or tutoring programs and resources for youth in/from care.
- Support outreach and recruitment teams in engaging youth in care.
- Design, deliver, and report on programs tailored to youth in care at Branches.
- Collaborate with relevant groups at McGill to promote Branches programs and encourage volunteer registration.
- Liaise with external organizations to publicize programs for youth in care at Branches.
- Support general recruitment efforts, including organizing events in-person, virtually, or at a distance.
The list of functions outlined above is representative and not a complete and detailed list of tasks which may be performed by an incumbent. For example, incumbents may be asked to perform some elements of Office Assistant level “A” and/or “B” in addition to the above listed functions.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of youth in/from care, resources at McGill University and in Montreal. Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills are essential. Candidates with lived experience in youth in care as well as awareness of human rights and equity issues is preferred.
