About the role

Job Description Onsite - This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Oshawa Assembly on a full-time basis.

In this role, you will serve as a Finance partner to Operating Staff with timely and relevant reporting and analysis that drives the most informed business decisions. You will provide analysis, insights and recommendations that drive profitability, mitigate risks and offer solutions to business problems. You will lead by example displaying GM behaviors, commitment to personal development and dedication to building a positive Workplace of Choice culture.

Key Elements

  • Budget, Forecast and Business Plan development, presentation and maintenance
  • Responsible for reporting monthly results and variance analysis thereon
  • Financial oversight for third party supplier network
  • Prepare Manpower reports and share with Plant team for analysis.
  • Prepare month end journal entries
  • Coach assigned leadership champions and their departmental leads with the cost council meetings
  • Liaise with US HQ on financial reporting and forecast relative to the plant
  • Ensure internal controls as set out by GMNA Business Process Controls are met
  • Ad hoc costing projects as required

Additional Job Description Required Qualifications

  • Post Secondary Education required in business, accounting, finance, economics
  • High level of oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills and technical aptitude
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with various groups
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting theory and practice
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and a high level of initiative
  • 5+ years of Financial experience
  • High degree of proficiency with excel, including formulae & function

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Previous operations finance experience
  • Post Graduate designation/degree i.e. CPA, CMA, MBA
