ESTIMATOR

Under the supervision of the Regional Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for providing price estimates, product details, technical information and technical assistance, as well as supporting the sales team. More specifically, the incumbent will have the following responsibilities

Main Responsibilities

  • Perform price estimation based on information provided by customers or obtained from tender documents and contract specifications on Armtec products and services.
  • Assist customers in determining their product requirements.
  • Communicate technical and sales information to customers.
  • Follow up on quotations, receive and prepare orders with full pricing details and customer information for entry into WERPS, including those related to the stormwater system.
  • Provide sales team with details of customer requests that may require follow-up.
  • Prepare drawings and sketches required for quotation or fabrication.
  • Assist in the preparation of standardized drawings, documentation and presentations.
  • Maintain and update product information files.
  • Research projects using various systems used for public tenders.
  • Work closely with engineering and operations and collaborate with external project managers, sales and customer service teams.
  • Promote and enhance a productive and supportive work environment in compliance with health and safety laws and regulations and Armtec's culture of commitment and responsibility.

Qualifications:

  • 2 to 5 years' experience in civil engineering and infrastructure
  • College diploma in civil engineering an asset

Skills

  • Good knowledge of products and services related to Armtec's market and their installations
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Knowledge of procedures related to order acceptance and placement
  • Experience in the construction industry with contractors would be highly advantageous
  • Proficiency in reading plans and specifications, identifying required products and estimating quantities.
  • Demonstrates precision and thoroughness in all procedures
  • Strong communication skills are essential
  • Customer-oriented, problem-solving approach
  • Able to integrate into a well-established team, collaborate in its development and evolve in a fast-paced environment
  • Committed and open to change
  • Good stress management
  • Fluency in spoken and written French and English
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Knowledge of MS Office suite and web tools
  • Knowledge of computer-aided drafting software (AutoCad)
