About the role
Our client’s team is looking for a driven and experienced cyber insurance professional to join them on an 18‑month contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a collaborative, high-performing group and play a key role in shaping and expanding a national cyber insurance portfolio. In this role, you will help grow a national cyber insurance portfolio by analyzing risks, negotiating terms, and developing new business relationships. You will also manage existing accounts to ensure retention, all while contributing to a collaborative, performance-driven culture. Success will require strong expertise in cyber underwriting, the ability to balance profitability with client needs, and a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive profitable growth of the cyber portfolio through disciplined underwriting and active prospecting
- Develop and execute new-business strategies and establish strong relationships with brokers and clients
- Review risks in detail and negotiate policy terms that align with underwriting standards and business goals
- Maintain and grow existing accounts, delivering retention and rate targets
- Deliver responsive service by resolving inquiries and managing client expectations
- Ensure all underwriting files are properly documented and compliant with company policies
- Stay on top of market trends and provide insights to the team to support ongoing strategy
- Partner with other business units to leverage cross-selling opportunities and enhance client offerings
- Support the team with special projects, reporting, and process improvements as needed
- Foster an inclusive and collaborative team environment that welcomes diverse viewpoints
Skills & Experience
- 6+ years of cyber underwriting experience with a successful track record in business development and portfolio management
- University degree and/or relevant insurance designation(s) preferred
- Strong knowledge of cyber insurance products, policy wordings, and emerging risk trends
- Proven ability to evaluate complex accounts, craft tailored solutions, and grow profitable business
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence clients, brokers, and colleagues
- Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Adaptive to new processes and committed to continuous learning and improvement
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset
