About the Role:

Reporting to the SVP, Business Operations, this position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day building maintenance operations, ensuring the physical condition and safety of the property meet high standards. This hands-on leadership role includes managing maintenance staff, coordinating repair and preventive maintenance schedules, responding to service requests, and maintaining compliance with safety regulations. The Supervisor ensures efficient operation of building systems to support tenant satisfaction and asset performance.

Your Focus in this Role:

  • Supervise and coordinate the work of building maintenance technicians, custodians, and external contractors.
  • Perform and assign tasks related to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general maintenance.
  • Prioritize and oversee completion of daily work orders, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs.
  • Conduct regular property inspections to identify maintenance needs and safety issues.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment servicing, and inventory of supplies.
  • Coordinate vendor services for specialized repairs or inspections (e.g., elevator, fire systems, roofing).
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, local building codes, fire codes, and company safety policies.
  • Train and mentor maintenance team members to enhance skills, safety practices, and customer service.
  • Support the budgeting process by providing input on capital projects, equipment replacement, and maintenance costs.
  • Respond to after-hours maintenance emergencies as needed.
  • Collaborate with property management and other departments to support tenant move-ins, inspections, and building upgrades.

Education, Experience and Skills**:**

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/vocational training preferred.
  • 5+ years of building maintenance experience, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Strong working knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints, technical manuals, and interpret equipment specifications.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between sites if required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical duties including climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, and standing for extended periods.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work independently and under tight deadlines while maintaining excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work with a dynamic group of individuals in many different departments and prioritize tasks
