Role Overview

The SEM + Retail Manager is a data-driven, insights-led strategist and media platform expert. This individual excels in analytics, hands-on execution, and reporting, while also being a natural collaborator with strong organizational and presentation skills.

The role spans multiple U.S. accounts across the CPG, retail, and health/fitness sectors and requires comfort managing diverse client expectations simultaneously. The Manager will oversee the strategy and execution of paid media campaigns across platforms such as Google, Bing, Amazon, Walmart, and other retail media networks—managing the full campaign lifecycle from planning to optimization.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy and execution of retail media campaigns (e.g., Sponsored Products, Integrated Media) to deliver measurable outcomes
  • Maximize product visibility, digital shelf presence, and conversions across retailer ecosystems
  • Build and execute SEM and retail strategies aligned with client KPIs, including keyword planning, ad copy, and landing page optimization
  • Own end-to-end campaign execution, from media planning through performance optimization
  • Analyze campaign performance using tools like Google Analytics and SEMrush to generate actionable insights
  • Continuously evolve strategies through testing, innovation, and integration of new platform capabilities
  • Collaborate with internal teams and retail media networks to support campaign and merchandising excellence
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and adapt strategies to remain competitive
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to SEM and retail media knowledge sharing across the agency.

Experience & Skills

  • 3–4+ years in media or performance marketing, with a focus on SEM or retail media
  • Direct, hands-on experience with:
  • Google Ads (required)
  • SA360, Amazon Ads, and other retail media networks
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented
  • Experience managing campaigns for Fortune 50 brands
  • Creative, resourceful, and hands-on in execution
  • Solid understanding of the digital marketing landscape: CRM, SEO, SEM, programmatic, mobile, social, video
  • Experience with e-commerce platforms such as Shopify, Magento, or BigCommerce (an asset)
  • Ability to work independently and apply common sense to solve complex tasks
