About the role
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Advanced analytics capabilities to help the team and the business succeed with a keen eye towards accurate data
- Ability to manage and interpret complex union agreement language
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Outlook/Office/Excel (Solid Intermediate Level with knowledge of using Macros, VLOOKUP, Pivot Table)
- Learn and apply payroll legislative requirements
- Respond to all payroll related inquiries in a timely and professional manner using our Service Now ticket system
- Report writing and maintenance in various financial systems
- Building and maintenance of various data feed files or payout calculations
- Support and payroll processing
- Special projects as required
Qualifications: the ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
- Bilingual (French) - able to read, write and speak at intermediate level
- Payroll certification through the Canadian Payroll Association or equivalent experience
- Post-secondary education in a related field such as computer science, human resources, data analytics etc
- High level of attention to detail
- Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
- Computer programming knowledge and/or experience
- Time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask daily activities in a fast-paced environment
- Above average continuous improvement skills
- Ability to work flexible hours when required
