Role Overview:

We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer who thrives on process accuracy, collaboration, and continuous improvement. This role reports directly to the Director of Engineering and plays a critical role in supporting product development, optimizing production processes, and maintaining high-quality manufacturing documentation.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Take full ownership of Bills of Materials (BOMs), Process Plans, SOPs, and master production files.
  • Maintain accurate ERP master data including Item Masters and routing plans (Epicor preferred).
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product development, production, vendors, and customers to support project timelines and deliverables.
  • Analyze recurring product issues and lead root cause and corrective action initiatives.
  • Review product designs for manufacturability, cost-efficiency, and quality alignment (Design for Manufacturing).
  • Release documentation—including drawings, BOMs, and work instructions—in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Participate in quality improvement efforts, such as improving First Pass Yield and reducing RMAs.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and support day-to-day engineering needs on the shop floor.
  • Coordinate UL certifications and ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to kaizen and process improvement projects across departments.

Compensation:

We provide a base salary, which will fall into a range depending on your experience.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Proven experience working with AutoCAD and ERP systems (Epicor preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, LED systems, and material properties (e.g., acrylic, aluminum, thermal adhesives).
  • Experience supporting production documentation, continuous improvement, and engineering change processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple technical priorities under minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to work full-time, on-site in a dynamic production environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with lighting industry processes including extrusion, anodizing, powder coating, and thermal management.
  • Experience with addressable RGBW LEDs, drivers, control systems (DMX/SPI), and UL/CSA/NOM compliance.
  • Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and hands-on experience supporting validation builds or pilot runs.
  • Knowledge of SolidWorks or Onshape (bonus).
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
