This is a permanent part-time position that will August 25, 2025.

Role Overview:
The Courier is responsible for the efficient, timely and accurate delivery of mail and resources to and from all Prairie Valley schools, offices and suppliers. Working as part of a team of support staff, this position helps to ensure that students and staff have the resources they need, when they need them.

What you will do:

  • Conduct daily courier runs within Prairie Valley School Division to ensure schools, the Education Centre and other sites receive the information and goods they need in a timely, accurate, and reliable manner.

  • Organize logistics of the weekly runs and suggest process improvements to maximize efficiency and improve client service.

  • Organize the Shipping and Receiving area to ensure materials and resources are delivered in a timely and efficient manner, including Canada Post drop offs.

  • Use Asset Planner software to respond to requests for pickup and delivery of educational resources including but not limited to trailers, shared portable stages, furniture, sports equipment, science and other programming kits, assistive technology, PAA equipment, parts, tipis, caretaker cleaning equipment, and supplies.

  • Respond to emergency water situations including the delivery of bottled water and other supplies to support seamless school operations.

  • Perform other duties as may be required or assigned by the Facilities Supervisor.

What will make you successful:

  • Grade 12 Diploma.

  • Valid Saskatchewan Driver’s License.

  • Minimum three years of experience in a professional driving capacity.

  • Transport of Dangerous Goods (TDG).

  • WHMIS.

  • Defensive and Winter Driving Course.

  • Ability to drive a van and other vehicles safely and confidently for long distances in a variety of weather and road conditions.

  • Good interpersonal skills, projecting a positive image of the school division.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and communication at all levels in the organization.

  • Ability to organize and manage the delivery of high volumes of resources in an efficient manner.

  • Ability to manage confidential material and maintain staff and student privacy.

What you can expect:

  • Hourly rate range: $23.60 - $27.61

  • 100% employer paid health benefits plan.

  • Employer matched pension plan.

  • Hours of work are 10 hours per day, 4 days a week every other week on school days. Courier is not scheduled to work during school vacation periods including the summer break.

  • Additional working conditions, leave provisions and other benefits are described in the non-unionized Conditions of Employment agreement.

  • Physical exertion and handling of objects up to 50 lbs. on a repeated basis through the day.
