CORE OBJECTIVE -
Carry out skilled DIY & general maintenance work involved in all aspects of hotel maintenance, both internal and external. The role would include general DIY and maintenance including basic carpentry, plumbing, replacement of tiling and flooring, and painting and decorating.
This will also include regular checks and assessments of both private and public areas, liaising with housekeeping, performing jobs as and when they are required.
DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES
– Installations, inspections, diagnosing faults, testing, replacement, repair and maintenance of building, fixtures, and fittings.
– General plumbing including Plumbing – washers, taps, unblocking toilets, sinks etc.
– General carpentry such as hanging doors, new locks, repairing window screens, assembling furniture, replacing handles and similar hardware.
– General tiling – floors and walls
– General painting & decorating
– Basic electrical maintenance
– Liaising with housekeeping, performing jobs as and when they are required.
–Identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair; to ensure compliance with agreed codes, law, working practices and health and safety
– General cleaning and maintenance of washers, dryers, furnace filters.
– Testing of pool and upkeep of swimming pool equipment.
– Ensure compliance to agreed codes, legislation, and procedures including health and safety
– Maintain accurate records/documentation associated with your work
– Immediately report problems/failures that may impact on the organisation and/or its clients to general manager.
– Contribute towards the smooth running of the team
– Adhere to all organisation policies and procedures
From time to time, you may be expected to be part of special projects as are reasonably required of your job role.
HOURS - Your usual hours will be part time from 10am to 2pm. (As required) However, you will be expected to work as and when is necessary to meet the needs of the business.
At times, you may be expected to work in accordance with the organisation’s overtime policies.
ESSENTIAL ABILITIES – experience in this type of job role of minimum 2 years
– Person must be living in or nearby Leamington, ON
– Have own tools and requisite knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials common to the electrical trade
– To demonstrate knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulations for this role
– Skills in general DIY and maintenance including assessment, installation, repair and maintenance
– To be friendly and approachable and understand and deliver good customer service
– Good attention to detail
– To demonstrate good time management and project management skills
– A full driving licence
