POSITION SUMMARY:
The Network/Helpdesk Administrator primary responsibility is to provide excellent technical support to our users both locally in the Cambridge office and remotely across Ontario. This role will be focused on computer, software and network support for our internal operations and will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and supporting the technology and systems our teams use daily. The ideal candidate is motivated, assertive and displays a high
level of problem-solving skills. This position will be on site at our Cambridge, Ontario location.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administer Windows server, Windows 10/11, within Microsoft Active Directory/ Office 365
- Hybrid environment including adding and removing users, assigning security, creating email accounts.
- Install, repair, and configure desktops, laptops, monitors, mobile phones, routers, switches and peripherals such as printers, scanners, video conference hardware.
- Be the point of contact providing technical assistance and support for incoming queries related to computer systems, software, and hardware, mobile devices from end users in person and online using the helpdesk ticketing system.
- Assist with New Hire orientation on company IT platforms, providing required system access as needed.
- Backup data and perform data recovery when required.
- Create knowledgebase for frequent helpdesk tickets and standard procedures.
- Ensure appropriate security levels are maintained for processes, information exchange and system implementations.
- Adheres to all company policies, workplace standards, procedures, and safe work practices.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
CANDIDATE PROFILE:
- Four-year post-secondary degree in an Information Technology related program.
- 2+ years experience as an IT admin in an enterprise-level, time sensitive ticket-based environment.
- Proven experience with Active Directory, Azure/Entra ID, Exchange and SharePoint.
- Any Microsoft certifications or CompTIA A+ (Network +, Security +) would be beneficial but not required.
- PowerShell scripting experience an asset.
- Knowledge of Network and Data security.
- Knowledge of Watchguard, Sophos, Fortinet or other routers an asset.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Strong system evaluation and analysis.
- Excellent command of the English language both written and verbal.
- Self-starter and able to work in a team atmosphere.
- High attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
