Job Title: Farm Business Representative (Development Program)

Location: G3 Bloom

The Development Program:
The Farm Business Representative (Development Program) will be an active participant in their development and training and the ideal candidate would be an internal or external candidate who has expressed interest in becoming a Farm Business Representative and working in customer service capacity procuring grain.

The Farm Business Representative (Development Program) would report to a designated individual paired with a local mentor to help in their development over the course of 12 months. Once the Farm Business Representative (Development Program) completes the 12-month development program, G3 Canada Limited may offer full-time employment to the individual as a Farm Business Representative Level 1.

The Training Approach:
The Farm Business Representative (Development Program) will work in several different areas of the business as G3’s Farm Business Representative Development Program is a multi-dimensional program designed to provide select individuals the opportunity to: develop their farm business and customer service skills; develop their understanding of G3 Canada; develop agri-business and supply chain knowledge; and grow their career.

Learning and development occurs in multiple ways such as on-the-job, peering with other professionals, networking, reading and sharing best practices to name a few. The Farm Business Representative (Development Program) program is designed to support you in your personal accountability and being deliberate for your own personal and professional development. You will approach the learning and development process using the following:

  • 70% of development comes from on-the-job application of formal training, feedback and direction from peers/mentors/managers, seminars, books etc.
  • 20% of development comes from interaction and exposure to formal training, coaching sessions with peers/mentors/managers, job shadowing peers, asking clarifying questions, etc.
  • 10% of development comes self-directed and initiated learning from reading books and publications

Travel:
For training purposes, the chosen candidate must be able to travel, have a valid driver’s license, provide a driver abstract and have access to a reliable vehicle. Some travel will require time away from home.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in a related field (agriculture, commerce, etc.) or equivalent work experience
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good computer skills, with knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Business related work experience is an asset
  • Knowledge of agriculture in general is an asset
  • Sales knowledge and negotiations skills an asset
