Customs and Outsourcing Coordinator The Customs and Outsourcing Coordinator is responsible for the handling of Canadian and American customs, for all activities pertaining to transportation, logistics, shipments, importing/exporting and warehousing.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for handling Canadian and American Customs information involving the transportation of goods across the International border.
- Responsible for maintaining CADEX EDI system.
- Responsible for adherence and compliance to all Customs importing regulations.
- Responsible for maintaining HTS Data base to assure proper classification, duty, tax and exchanges rates.
- Responsible for incoming purchase orders related to internal job numbers.
- Responsible for communicating accurate importation costs to applicable personnel for quoting and job costing.
- Responsible to stay current on associated Canadian and International importation and exportation regulations.
- Responsible for preparing all documentation required to import or export goods.
- Acts as C-TPAT liaison and communicates appropriately the security criteria as set by U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agencies.
- Responsible for maintaining the C-TPAT portal, truck security records and drivers abstracts to ensure compliance with requirements as a trade partner.
- Responsible for internal and external logistics with respect to dispatching of company drivers, and associated files, logs, hours etc.
- Attends to quoting of transportation for company sales and program management departments.
- Arranging cost effective outside carriers for transportation needs when required.
- Maintain, update and renew all required records, licenses and certification as required.
- Responsible for all courier shipments including paperwork and packaging.
- Ensures compliance with NAFTA and customs requirements and regulations.
- Arrange for vehicle certification and required maintenance.
- Arrange for services required for outsourcing on tooling.
- Records Premium Freight on reports.
- Responsible for ensuring that monthly inspections of Customer-supplier items are completed.
- Abide by Company Value Statement and the Company Standard Code of Conduct.'
- To support, implement, maintain and promote Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) Initiatives, as required by related Organization security management systems procedures.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- 10 years Customs Brokerage experience
- 5 years Logistics experience in an Automotive/Tooling environment
- Strong working knowledge of Customs Software
- Customs experience in the Mold industry
