Accountant
We are seeking an experienced Accountant to support their accounting and finance team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced professional looking to bring their technical accounting knowledge and analytical skills to a collaborative, service-oriented environment.
This role will support the accounting team in the areas of accounting, banking, and reporting services. You will be involved in month-end and year-end processes, preparing and analyzing financial statements in accordance with GAAP and Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS), reconciliations, journal entries, and preparing financial statements.
You will also liaise with business units, auditors, and internal stakeholders to support ongoing financial operations and reporting
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in full-cycle accounting, cash flow, forecasting, and banking.
- Professional accounting designation (CPA).
- Proven experience preparing financial statements and reconciling complex accounts.
- Strong understanding of internal controls and audit processes.
- Proficiency with Excel (pivot tables, formulas, lookups); QuickBooks experience is an asset
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working across teams and with external partners.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to thrive in a deadline-driven environment
Previous experience in the public, broader public, and not-for-profit sectors is preferred.
