Position Summary
Hollyburn Country Club is seeking skilled and passionate Minor Hockey Coaches to provide contracted coaching services for the 2025–2026 season. These are independent contractor positions, ideal for skilled professionals who are committed to fostering the development of young athletes in both Rep and House league programs. Contractors will deliver specialized instruction in power skating, puck skills, shooting, team systems, and overall game development.
We are looking for positive, professional role models who can create a respectful and engaging learning environment for players aged 6–18.
Position Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, age-appropriate hockey instruction during practices and games
- Specialize in areas such as power skating, puck handling, shooting, or team systems
- Coach 2 practices and 1–2 games per week
- Foster strong relationships with players and families through clear and professional communication
- Support a positive, inclusive, and respectful team culture
- Represent Hollyburn Hockey in a professional manner both on and off the ice
- Collaborate with fellow coaches and Club staff to ensure program alignment and excellence
Skills & Qualifications
- Prior experience playing hockey at a high level (Junior A or higher) and/or youth coaching experience
- Certification in any of the following is strongly preferred:
- Hockey Canada Development 1 or 2
- High Performance 1
- Hockey Canada Certified Skating, Checking, or Skills Coach
Note: Certification sponsorship is available for candidates with elite playing backgrounds
- Positive, approachable, and professional attitude
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to teach, guide, and motivate players aged 6–18
- Reliable transportation (Club is not easily accessible by public transit)
- Must be available from September 2025 to March 2026
Working Conditions
- This position operates 100% on-site
- Regular evenings or weekend work may be required during peak periods or special events
- Own transportation is an asset as public transportation is not frequent to/from the Club
- Candidates must agree to complete a Police Information Check (fully reimbursed upon hire).
