Client Care Assistant – Lambton Mental Wellness Centre
About the role
1 Part-time Position - up to 16 hours per week
(Hours of operation - Monday thru Thursday 10:30am-2:30pm)

Reporting to the Manager of Housing and Client Care, the incumbent will be responsible for the following functions:

Assist in the delivery of social drop-in activities
-
Utilize tools to assist clients in creating individual care plans.

Support clients in developing empowerment skills and combating stigma through self-advocacy
-
utilize their lived experience with mental health and/or addiction challenges to assist clients in setting goals for their recovery
-
assisting clients in developing and maintaining healthy daily routines that promote recovery and independence by reinforcing skill development through means of coaching, demonstrating and assisting clients with daily tasks as required;
-
assisting clients in accessing recreational and community-based activities;
-
supporting program evaluation;
-
ensuring that clients’ concerns are addressed promptly and professionally;
-
ensuring that client interaction supports client self-determination and independence; and
-
keeping the team abreast of progress and/or setbacks and adjusting strategies through consultation with the team.

Stepping in to take on other duties in support of the extended team as needed
-
Consult with manager to make referrals for service beyond the scope of the CCA function
Qualifications:

a minimum requirement of a grade 12 education or equivalent
-
A certificate in Personal Support Worker (PSW) college program from a recognized post-secondary institution or a post-secondary diploma in a relevant discipline or a Social Service Worker Diploma would be considered an asset

Peer training would be considered an asset
-
Lived experience of mental illness and or addictions
-
a valid Ontario Driver’s Licence and access to a vehicle in good repair.
Hours of Work:
Up to 16 hours/week. Flexible hours are required to meet the position requirements.
Salary: Commensurate with experience within the range: $22.02-$26.79
