About the role
Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Senior Procurement Advisor on a permanent basis on our Procurement team.
This position is a hybrid opportunity, with a preference for candidates based in or near Saskatoon, SK .
Join Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) as a Senior Procurement Advisor and play a key role in transforming procurement into a strategic, center-led function. You'll work directly with business units to drive sourcing excellence, supplier performance, and cost efficiencies in a hybrid role based in Saskatoon.
What you’ll do:
- Oversee end-to-end procurement for FCL and Retail Co-op Construction and Operations projects. Serve as the subject matter expert, guiding stakeholders from contracting strategy and sourcing to negotiation and contract management. You'll provide essential guidance, resolve complex issues, and contribute to strategic decisions and budgeting for construction and operational sourcing.
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure contract compliance while resolving disputes and addressing complex issues escalated from lower levels. Serve as a subject matter expert on BU operations and the supplier landscape, delivering innovative solutions to meet business unit needs.
- Act as a subject matter expert on procurement processes, systems, and tools within the assigned BU, providing critical feedback to the to drive continuous improvement and change management. Recommend new practices and help develop and maintain the procurement tool portfolio to meet evolving business needs.
- Serve as a key partner and technical lead in communication, change management, and training initiatives, ensuring effective delivery and adoption within assigned business units. Mentor team members, identify future training needs, and collaborate on designing solutions that align with business requirements.

You will work closely with local Co-op’s, business unit stakeholders and the Supply Chain Business Unit and will report into the Senior Manager, Procurement Operations. This team strives to cultivate a culture of collaboration, strategic thinking and creativity.

Who you are:
You are looking for a career in Supply Chain and:
- Have 6-9 years of relevant progressively responsible experience in procurement and/or directly relevant field including operations management, engineering, finance or accounting. Experience with specific sourcing and contract experience with architectural, engineering and construction projects or equivalent scopes of varying complexity.
- Have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Commerce, Engineering or a relevant field. A completed Supply Chain Management Association (SCMA) Diploma/Certificate or equivalent
- Experience with sourcing and procurement at the operating unit or department level. Experience utilizing digital source-to-pay procurement and data analytics tools is strongly preferred.
- Certificates or designations in supply chain management, engineering, finance, accounting, Lean/Six Sigma, or operations planning are beneficial.
