About the role

Our client is an international manufacturer of industrial and specialty adhesives. Their high performance adhesives are use by manufacturers of composites, flooring systems, foam products, cabinetry, transportation technology and other applications. They require an experienced industrial sales professional to serve OEM accounts in the greater Toronto, Ontario territory. Candidates of interest will already reside within the sales territory.

Responsibilities

  • Focusing on Original Equipment Manufacturers, manage the complete sales cycle, from opportunity identification through sales closure for all industrial adhesive product lines within the greater Toronto region.
  • Research, prospect and qualify new customers by identifying customer requirements and performance standards and by recommending appropriate adhesive solutions.
  • Develop expertise in specific adhesive technology, applications and equipment and share within the organization.
  • Create and communicate all required sales, market and expense reports on a timely basis.
  • Create an opportunity pipeline and communicate it as required.
  • Respond to customer complaints as required and manage internal resources to resolve them.
  • Identify market size and share as well as competitors share and their relative market advantages and weaknesses.
  • Improve selling skills through continuous education.
  • Participate in appropriate professional and trade organizations and trade exhibitions.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of industrial adhesive sales experience, or experience selling other materials or equipment into similar industrial applications.
  • Basic understanding of chemistry is highly desirable with a technical aptitude to effectively communicate adhesive product features and benefits and to learn appropriate industrial technology and applications.
  • Ability to develop productive relationships across different departments with customer organizations including Manufacturing, R&D, Purchasing etc.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently from a home office.
