Accounts Payable Clerk - 12 Month Contract/Acting

Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) currently has an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our Finance & Accounting (F&A) department. This is a 12-month contract opportunity reporting to the Manager, Financial Operations. The purpose of the role is to provide customer service to Operational-related queries (accounts payable), conduct reconciliation on various subsystem interfaces and troubleshoot reconciling items, ensure current and accurate vendor setup, and that all functions are performed in a team environment.

What You’ll be Doing:
- Handling the invoice process from beginning to end
- Accurate and timely invoice processing in SAP system to achieve payment terms
- Partnering with BU to work through issues and provide recommendations
- Provide guidance/training to BU on proper Goods receiving
- Examine PO details to ensure correct Goods receiving
- Work with BUs and Procurement to ensure cheque requisitions are processed
- Ensuring vendor accounts are current and up to date
- Promptly answer all vendor and BU inquiries relating to AP issues
- Be responsive and become a trusted partner to the BU and vendors
- Work with the Information Services (IS) department to resolve interface issues, find root cause and recommend solutions
- Communication with internal and external customers
- Knowledge/application of all accounting team duties for the experience of job rotation as required
- Contribute to the timely and accurate reporting of financial results
- Aid with month end and year end activities
- SOx compliance
What You’ll Bring:
- College Diploma or University Degree in accounting
- Experience with an ERP system (SAP preferred)
- 1+ years of work-related experience in accounts payable (invoice processing)
- Knowledgeable in accounting processes
- Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Good oral and written communication
- Analytical, critical thinker and organized
- Ability to work in a team environment and independently where required
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Customer focus (Internal and External customers)
- Finds new ways to address business requirements
- Strong Time Management
- Understanding of systems, processes and internal controls over financial information
- Personal integrity and ethics
- Accounting Designation or CPA enrolment is a strong asset
- Bilingualism in (English/French) is preferred.
