POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Non-RECE Educator, you will play an essential role in delivering quality early learning experiences that support each child’s cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development. Reporting to the Centre Director, you will work alongside RECEs and other team members to implement curriculum activities, maintain a safe and inclusive classroom, and foster meaningful relationships with children and families.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the planning and delivery of curriculum experiences that reflect Childventures’ educational philosophy
  • Modify learning activities based on children’s needs, interests, and developmental observations
  • Conduct daily observations and contribute to child documentation and records
  • Participate in internal training sessions and ongoing professional development
  • Communicate openly and professionally with families about their child’s experiences and progress
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment
  • Maintain classroom routines and reinforce positive behaviours and expectations
  • Collaborate with Team Mentors, RECEs, and Centre Directors to ensure high program quality
  • Support compliance with licensing, health, and safety regulations
  • Participate in quality assurance reviews and environmental rating assessments
  • Other duties as assigned to support classroom success

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Training

  • Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Assistant, Child and Youth Care, Educational Assistant, or a related field

Experience

  • Experience working in a licensed childcare or early learning environment is considered an asset

Knowledge & Skills

  • Familiarity with the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA)
  • Strong interest in early childhood development and classroom engagement

MINISTRY REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2 Step TB
  • Updated Immunizations (Tetanus, MMR)
  • Health Assessment (deemed fit for work)
  • Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Standard First Aid & CPR Level C
