The Respiratory Therapist III (Team Lead/Educator) supervises therapy services in their assigned area; performs a specialist role as a clinical lead responsible for mentoring, promoting standards of practice, responding to clinical questions, coordinating ongoing skill and student development. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the HSAA Paramedical Professional/Technical Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:
Required Qualifications: Graduate of a recognized and accredited school of Respiratory Therapy program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration and member in good standing with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA) required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Three years of recent acute care experience required. Knowledge and understanding of Point of Care Testing (POCT), Accreditation Standards, Health Professions Act (HPA), CRTA Standards of Practice, Code of Conduct/Ethics and the Protection of Privacy (POPA) and Access to Information (ATIA) Acts. Current N95 Mast Fit Test required. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required. Proven problem solving and critical thinking skills required. Excellent assessment and organizational skills required. Excellent computer skills and experience in electronic charting required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Current membership with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT). Recognized advanced continuing education work and previous educator experience. Recent clinical experience in all patient age ranges and demographics. Research experience. Current asthma educator/COPD educator certificate. Med Sled and BeLite trainer. Current NRP certification. Arterial line certification and experience with point of care ultrasound (POCUS). Hand Hygiene Auditor.
