About the role
In-Home Family Support
This family is looking for several people to hire for a range of hours up to 40 hours a week. This is a self-employed contract position. You will be providing some PSW-style support to assist a family caring for their family members, but you don't have to be a PSW if you come to the position with this type of support experience. This position is from 7 am to 3 pm Monday to Friday, as well as an evening position from 3 pm to 8 pm, and a weekend position from 8 am to 6 pm. We are looking for someone who can make at least a year-long commitment to this family at least and will be reliable. Looking for compassionate and caring support can build a good relationship with the family members. You will need to have experience with lifts, transfers, total personal care, and supporting members with good companionship and to assist with problem-solving and self-regulating. Engaging with family members during your time there to participate in activities and finding interesting things to do will be part of your role. You will have to pay close attention and be very curious to help yourself get to know people well and not miss those important details. The family members do have weakened immune systems, and therefore, you must be comfortable wearing a mask while you work and have good practices when it comes to creating a safe environment.

You must have a police check done with the vulnerable sector, and CPR is an asset. You must comfortably speak and write English. The start date will be as soon as candidates can be interviewed and vetted - these positions need to be filled quickly.
