Annual salary: $ 127,900.00 - 161,800.00

What you'll do

As a Senior Program Manager, this role is responsible for the success of multiple complex demand side management

(DSM) products and projects, primarily in the Commercial sector.

The Senior Program Manager will be responsible for successful business plan development,

approvals and execution of medium to high risk and complex projects, resource allocation, budget management and

reporting, and leading cross-functional teams. This also includes the

development of new processes, offer integration and evaluation of DSM solutions and program offers.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of program and product development and management of multiple

projects, management or procurement of vendors / contractors, driving continuous improvement, developing new initiatives,

leading and working in cross-functional teams, and external stakeholder relationship management.

The Senior Program Manager will be results-oriented, have an exceptional customer centric orientation, and take a practical

approach to effectively resolve problems.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be responsible for business planning and reporting, and be accountable for the results
  • Provide leadership and direction for multi-disciplinary teams to execute complex sector specific products which require

multiple approaches to customers utilizing various delivery methods.

  • Monitor the product results to ensure performance targets are achieved and/or initiate alternate strategies to continuously

improve the offerings for customers

  • Develop briefing notes, analyses, and reports for senior management and the government
  • Establish strong relationships and communication channels with internal and external clients/stakeholders to ensure

success of program delivery;

  • Provide specialist knowledge to internal stakeholders and customers regarding the operation of programs and projects;

and

  • Coach and manage junior team members’ work as required.
  • Engage with cross functional teams and stakeholders in the development and execution of initiatives.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, investigate and analyze product and market trends and issues to develop new or revised

products to meet energy reduction and financial objectives.

  • Provide coaching and mentoring to professional and/or technical resources involved in product development and

implementation.

  • Run regular and ad hoc project update meetings and design workshops to ensure regular communication amongst

program stakeholders.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a relevant discipline such as business

administration.

  • 5-7 years of experience with program and project management within a large, complex organization. Experience within a

commercial setting is desirable.

  • Experience managing energy efficiency, strategic energy management and electrification initiatives and practices
  • Leadership ability aligning with BC Hydro’s core values.
  • Proven planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in budgeting, variance analysis and risk assessments.
  • Experience in developing and implementing significant program and process changes
  • Demonstrated ability to build influential relationships internally and externally, at every level of the organization.
  • Results-driven, while respecting the importance of collaboration and teamwork.
  • Requires excellent oral, written and presentation skills for communication with a wide variety of internal and external

stakeholders as listed above.

  • Knowledge and understanding of BC Hydro's business and the interdependencies of the various departments and

systems.

  • Familiarity with CRM (Customer relationship management) systems or tools is desirable.
