Hours of Work : Up to 24 Hours per week

Posting period: July 31 , 2025 to August 7 , 2025 ( at 6:00pm)
Overview We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Event Coordinator to oversee front-of-house operations during events. This role serves as the first point of contact for casual event staff, ensuring smooth coordination, excellent patron service, and adherence to facility policies.
This is a temporary part time position to approximately August 7, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Acts as coordinator and first point of contact for casual event staff including assigning work areas.
- Checks facility prior to event; reports problems to appropriate staff and communicates information to supervisor.
- Monitor staff during events.
- Relieves casual event staff during scheduled breaks.
- Resolves ticket issues and seating disputes.
- Ensure staff provide assistance with pa trons' special needs, such as helping those with wheelchairs.
- Ensure staff enforce facility rules and regulations.
- Awareness of Municipal Alcohol Policy, City policies, procedures, and documents in order to monitor patrons during performance or events.
- Recognizes and takes action to correct and/or report customer service concerns, incidents, problems and emergencies; contacts supervisor, security, and emergency personnel as required.
- Resolves effectively and diplomatically irate customer situations when possible or refers to supervisor as appropriate.
- Acts as a liaison between front house staff, box office staff, and supervisor.
- Collects facility event occurrences reports from staff and submits forms to supervisor.
- Ensure staff guide patrons to exits or provide other instructions or assistance in case of emergency.
- Answers event and facility questions; directing patrons to service areas.
- Performs bag checks as required.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Grade 12 diploma .
- 6 months of related experience.
- Smart Serve Certification .
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Some lifting, reaching and crouching is required.
- Reliable with a good attitude and employment record.
